GOLF CLUB MANAGER, KILKENNY GOLF CLUB
Kilkenny Golf Club founded in 1896, is a private members' golf club with a proud history. It is a premium golf club with over 1,200 playing members. The club is renowned for its top-class course and warm hospitality, which attract golfers of all abilities. It has significant guest, green-fee and society income.
CLUB MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for day-to-day operations.
- Overall Leadership and Management of the Club resources to achieve annual financial and operational goals.
- Financial management and control of budgets.
- Responsible for the hiring, training, and managing all golf club staff.
- Interacting tactfully with club members and the various committees.
- Commercial Management of the club’s substantial revenue streams.
- Development and implementation of marketing strategies to attract revenues and promote the club.
- Managing the Club’s facilities to the standards required for members, visitors, and staff.
- Manage procurement for optimum savings and management of capital.
GOLF AND CLUB FACILITIES:
- Working with the Head Greenkeeper and his team to maintain and present both the golf course and practice facilities to the highest standard.
- Working with the Bar Manager, and the catering contractor to deliver the best possible food and beverage service to members and visitors.
- Ensuring the club adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the management committee to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for the golf club.
- Coordinating with external parties, including suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree or extensive experience in Business, Hospitality or Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in club management and engagement with club management organisations would be an advantage.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Dynamic business acumen, financial literacy, (including familiarity with financial accounting systems) and I.T. skills.
- An understanding of, and affinity with, the game of golf in a private members’ golf club environment would be an advantage.
