The New Year 2022
Well, here we are again at the beginning of a new year. Hopefully, we will see a big improvement in what we have had to go through in the last two years. Much has happened since our last post so below are a few items of interest.
On behalf of all the IGCMA Team, we wish all our members a Happy New Year.
SUBSCRIPTIONS
Your annual subscription to the Association is now due. You should have received your invoice and if you haven't paid it already, please do so at your earliest convenience.
Only fully paid up members will be able to attend our AGM in March.
AGM
The 2021 AGM will take place on March 7th at Powerscourt GC at 5.00 pm. It will be preceded by Golf - Tee from 11.00-12.00. The booking sheet will open on February 21st at 9.00 am.
MONTHLY ZOOM MEETINGS
We will continue with our ZOOM Sessions which will take place on the first Thursday of each month at 11.00am. except for February which will be on Feb 2nd due to our Education session already booked in for the 3rd.
As of yesterday (Jan 22nd) all social restrictions have been relaxed so we will endeavour to host a Manager, Staff & Sponsors evening on February 24th/25th, depending on availability. That should provide an excellent opportunity to get together once again in a convivial environment.

RECRUITMENT
This is an extraordinary time for recruiting to the club industry. Since the middle of 2021, we have seen:
- Killeen GC, (Gareth McGinty CMDip)
- Ennis GC,(Donard McSweeney MBA, PGA),
- Kilkenny GC,(Mark Ruddy CMDip )
- Forest Little GC (David Reilly CMDip)
- Tramore GC,(Pat Murray)
- Hollywood Lakes GC (Darragh MBA,PGA)
- Sutton GC (Jim Quinn CMDip)
all appoint new club managers, while Athenry GC, Seapoint GC and St Helen’s Bay GC have all advertised in recent months for a GM.
Now in January, Rosslare GC, Wicklow GC & Lucan GC are all seeking a new GM. These are heady times indeed. One factor which has stood out has been the number of successful candidates who have attained the CMDip qualification as a minimum. It says much about the MDP Program run by CMAE.
