Laytown & Bettystyown Golf Club
Is seeking to appoint a 
General Manager

To manage the facilities, staff and administration of the Club.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, people management and communication skills and at least five year’s relevant experience including managing and motivating staff.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing the management & operation of the Club and ensuring compliance with operating standards and procedures, aligned with the policies set out by the Club Board of Management
  • Overseeing the preparation and development of budgets and financial plans
  • Motivating and leading the Clubhouse, Administration and Links teams
  • Creating a welcoming environment for all members and visitors to the course and clubhouse and ensuring both are presented to the highest standards
  • Maintaining a visible presence and communicating frequently and thoroughly with the membership
  • Monitoring and establishing accountability for the operating performance of all departments
  • Providing executive support for the Officers and Board of Management of the Club including the Links, House and Marketing convenors
  • Taking a lead role in the development of a Marketing plan to position the Club with the appropriate audience and grow the related income. In particular, Green Fee & Subscription income.
  • Working closely with the Club Professional to ensure delivery of an efficient and effective service to members and visitors

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Proven management and administration skills with a well-organised and efficient style
  • A strong track record of managing a multi-functional team with the emphasis on people management
  • A high level of enthusiasm and commitment to the role
  • High levels of organisation, efficiency and attention to detail
  • A strong track record of providing service excellence
  • Business acumen, financial literacy and excellent IT skills
  • First class communication, leadership, motivation and diplomacy skills
  • A flexible approach to working hours with some weekend work and the ability to work under pressure.
  • A CCM or CMDip  qualification would be a distinct advantage
